      The Forward Progression Of Mankind

      By admin | March 26, 2008

With all the latest technologies it seems that mankind is progressing, of course some people ask towards what? Are we progressing towards a common cause? If so, then what is it and if not, how can we change this asks a Swiss Thinker in an email to the Online Think Tank.

Personally, I think humans have proved they can progress, it may seem slow for those trapped in time watching it unfold, evolution is slow for the most part, but in the scheme of the Universe, extremely rapid, its all relative. All progression forward is perspective based, in fact a dummying down of the species may seem like going backwards, even if the species and its adaptations in that direction will allow for more of them to live together on the surface of the planet Earth.

Wars might be thought of a civilization going backwards although in many regards wars might also, warn the species to change and in 250 years there maybe no more wars, still only 1% of the humans who have ever lived have died in a war and fewer people die in present wars than the needless slaughtering of past periods. That does not make war an acceptable activity for political impasse; it is just a statement from outside the human cave of the flickering flame

From a pure species standpoint, civilization is a platform for groups of humans to enjoy their life-experience and fulfill their program, which is to be born, procreate and die, in a way that is safe from fear and enjoyable thus, freedom and liberty have been promoted as part of the needs and desires of all humans. Are we progressing towards that?

Well in the last 30 years there has been a mass migration to democratic states and nations, with only a few backslides. China, although communist is really a budding capitalistic society and the communist nations are re-thinking those government structures and the socialist nations are acting like combos between socialism and capitalism rather than pure socialism.

You know Milton Friedman use to say in the 60’s that we often speak as though we are socialists, but act more like pure-capitalists. Now one could say we talk a good line when it comes to capitalism, but much of how we govern is full of socialistic programs and tendencies. Think on this and I will get back with you soon.
