Foundational Characteristics Of Missional Leaders
Friday, April 11th, 2008One of my favorite leadership books is “Be, Know, Do: Leadership the Army Way” by Frances Hesselbein and General Eric K. Shinski (USA Ret.) This book takes a close look at the official Army Leadership Manual and applies its principles to the corporate and civic leadership realms. Here is the Army’s definition of leadership, “Leadership is influencing people, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation while operating to accomplish the mission and improving the organization”. (pg 5) This definition has three words that stand out to me: influencing, operating and improving. Influencing: motivating and loving others in the mission for the mission. Operating: creating plans, developing systems and managing their execution so that the mission is achieved. Improving: adding value to those around you and to the organization for the betterment of the mission.
How To Attract Christians And Others To Your Ministry Through The Internet
Thursday, April 10th, 2008Did you know the best way to attract Christians and others to your ministry at the Internet as well as the traditional world? Not? That is writing articles? Write articles just about anything in your life and ministry.
Another thing is to write testimonies about what God is doing through your ministry.
Please understand, it is vital to make Christians confident in your testimony and your ministry. There are so much scam at the Internet, so I don`t blame people that are sceptic. Publish more articles, and not less. This is an important part of serving God. When this is done the right way, it will Glorify God!
Time Management In Christ
Monday, March 24th, 2008Whether we worry about time, or timing, it doesn’t matter. They both belong to God. To worry excessively about how our future might work out is as futile as it is disobedient.
Let’s not dwell on what kind of people we might be someday, but rather, let’s live for Christ, in Christ today. It’s easy to imagine ourselves as something impressive sometime later, but it is better to obey the Lord right now. So it goes that God’s grace always requires reality-based action, which will continue to seem excessively difficult to us as long as we are impressed with imaginary greatness.
