Winning Is All That Matters, Isnt It?

Not long ago a coach, who coaches coaches made a persnickety comment when replying to something I said, with regards to the achievement of others which I had felt was lacking and underwhelming. I indicated that I could do better on my worst day and to this she admonished me for not putting things into perspective and realizing that not everyone had my talents. Then she stated; “Winning’s all that Matters, isn’t it?” As if to point out that I was missing the point, but in reality, I did not miss the point at all and so I told her;
You have asked a really nice question due to your loving and caring manner, not out of spite or anger “Winning’s all that matters, isn’t it?” In competition, yes winning is the most important component, you are absolutely correct and in the case of working towards your PB “personal best” then you are competing against “yourself” and thus, achievement is the victory, “winning” and yes, that is what matters.
You, see my friends winning does matter, achievement is paramount and piss-poor performance is nothing to be proud of. A winner should not have to make an excuse for winning, just like a loser does not need to make an excuse for losing, it’s their own fault, either way. Is winning all that matters?
Tip and Unique Insight: Winning Does Matter so remember that!
Sometimes, yes it is, other times it is one component of significant value. If winning were not important in human endeavors, there would be no contests, no competition and there would not even be a word for the resultant of those we call winners, for they would not exist. And to that point I do exist, so y’all are just going to have to deal with it. I suggest you get out of the way if you cannot handle it. Something for you to contemplate in 2008.
